Air Camp is grateful to generous donors who have provided funding to support a limited number of scholarships for our middle school and high school programs. Students should indicate their interest in being considered for a scholarship on their Air Camp application form, and those selected to participate in Air Camp will be notified of their scholarship status in May.

OVERNIGHT CAMPIS AN EDUCATION IN ADVENTURE

At Air Camp all Overnight Camp Students will:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the science, technology, engineering, and math of aviation and aeronautics while discovering general logistics and operations
  • Take flight ground school at Sinclair College and pilot a plane at Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport
  • Engage in fire and rescue learning modules at Wright Patterson Air Force Base
  • Demonstrate a curiosity about and a commitment to scholarship under the direction of aviation engineers, pilots, mechanics, UAS manufacturers, and many others
  • Experience hands-on encounters at the National Museum of the United States Air Force, The Boonshoft Museum of Discovery, Dayton International Airport, and more
  • Execute leadership skills through team engineering design challenges
  • Integrate citizenship skills by designing and participating in a service initiative

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

Grades 7, 8, 9 Overnight Camps 6 days each
The tuition is: $1095 for the week

  • Students must be entering grade 7, 8, or 9 in the fall of 2020
  • Acknowledgement of any special needs, dietary, physical, behavioral, etc. must be fully disclosed in the application process in an attempt to provide appropriate support; not all needs will be able to be supported but all attempts will be made in that effort for selected participants
  • Students must be prepared to reside at Wright State University each night for the duration of the event and share a room with a maximum of two roommates
  • Students must be willing to participate in or around water for team challenges
  • Students and parents must acknowledge all expectations for each participant within the application process to be considered for selection
  • In order to be under formal consideration, students must enter a valid e-mail address, first and last name of a teacher they request Air Camp should contact on his/her behalf
